No More Mumus - by Sonya

Autumn/Winter 2010

Giles. C'mon! You didn't think I would be posting clothing and not include a coral or orange shade, did ya? Loving coral with grey especially, and that hair. Oh, wow. I so want to be able to create and achieve such height.

Helmut Lang. Something I've seen done very successfully on other people, but something I've never attempted myself - layering long sleeved t-shirts underneath short sleeved dresses. I think this particular look is one I can copy. It's relatively simple and plain, that even I won't be able to stuff it up.

Issey Miyake. Yeah, it's a little out there. Yeah, it's not really all that 'wearable'. Yeah, I don't care. Look at the ruffles on that vest. YES.

I do the long-sleeved top under short-sleeve dresses thing - it makes light summer dresses last all winter, and I think it looks great. Then again, my fashion sense was formed in that part of the 90s when floral dresses over t-shirts was the height of fashion, so maybe that's just me!

I love it! And you've just made me remember that I totally used to do that as a kid! I just got the distinct memory of a white t-shirt & a shoestring strapped floral dress. Maybe I blocked it, hahaha.

I definitely want to try it again and try and get more wear out of my summer dresses!

Hahahahahha, I'm a total Buffy nerd, so I definitely thought "Giles, hee!", when I was writing it. Buffy nerds unite, yo.

Oh, that's a good point! It would have to be one of those super fitted tees, because any other tee would probably be too thick for it to work and it might look odd. Hmm. Must have a look-see if there are any in plus sizes anywhere. Challenge!
